Upus Ni Mama, Reflections With KI GMIM 6-12 July 2025, Receive One Another for the Glory of God

Best for you Upus Ni Mama, Reflections of Women (W/KI) GMIM in a week starting from 6 to 12 July 2025.

The scripture reading is found in Romans 15:1-13.

The meditation theme is "Receive One Another for the Glory of God."

Sermon:

Beloved and blessed mothers, in the name of Jesus Christ,

The Word of God for us this first week of the month invites us all to understand what

God wants us to do in this life.

The title of the reading is "The Strong and the Weak" and our meditation theme is "Accept One Another for the Glory of God." This theme is very inspiring as well as critical to our lives today, because with the advancement of technology, the emergence of artificial intelligence, and automation, it must be acknowledged that these developments have begun to change the way we work, learn, and interact.

Life that is mutually accepting and appreciating may experience degradation, because humans will become increasingly individualistic.

Before it's too late, we are invited to understand God's purpose through Romans 1:5:1-13.

Third President of Indonesia, B. J. Habibie once said, "No one is perfect, perfection belongs only to God."

The concept of human perfection according to Habibie is by complementing each other's weaknesses and strengths.

The same principle also serves as a reaffirmation by the Apostle Paul, when he speaks about the weak and the strong in this passage.

The reason is very fundamental, namely because there are differences in attitude and habits of faith among the congregation in Rome.

The difference in attitude and habits of faith is evident in matters of food and drink, as recorded in Romans 14:1-23.

For Jewish Christians in Rome, who were bound by the Mosaic Law and old customs, rules regarding food and drink could not be violated; in contrast, non-Jewish people in Rome and those who had recently believed, enjoyed freedom in Christ.

This situation made the Apostle Paul intervene and issue a moral appeal, urging them to live in harmony, to mutually accept and build each other up for the glory of God and the unity of the congregation.

Verses 1 and 2 say, "We who are strong must bear the weaknesses of the weak, and we must not seek our own advantage, but each of us must seek the good of others, to please them."

building it.

For Jews who had believed in Jesus but were still bound by the Mosaic law and old customs, Paul categorized them as "weak" in faith, whereas those who were not Jews, enjoying the freedom they had in Christ, were categorized by Paul as "strong" in faith.

Therefore, when he said that the strong must "bear the weaknesses" of the weak, he actually wanted to explain that the strong should be able to avoid actions that could

Making the weak tempted and tripped, the strong must support, love, and accept each other and

Respecting, even yielding for the sake of building others without seeking personal satisfaction.

Jesus Christ has become an example in terms of sacrifice and humility, where He was willing to endure insults and suffering for the salvation of others.

That is why, his followers are invited to live in harmony, with one heart, one voice, living in unity and peace for

worshipping Allah together, and mutually accepting each other, as well as building in love for the glory of Allah and

The growth of faith, joy, peace, and hope in the life of faith together.

In the context of our time, the Word of God reminds me and my brothers and sisters as pillars of prayer, bearers of blessings, wives, mothers, grandmothers in the family, to cast away all selfish attitudes that only like to seek personal pleasure, and to possess a patient attitude and a willingness to care for others.

Guard your heart and attitude, so that we will not cause others to stumble or lose their faith.

The Apostle Paul emphasized living together in a community, whether in a small family circle or a larger congregation or society, not only about personal freedom, but about how to build one body in love and harmony.

Jesus Christ has become our example. We have all been anointed as His children.

He has sent us to be His extension, and to do His will. If Jesus Christ Himself was willing to sacrifice for us who are weak, so that we may become strong, what is our response of faith?

Have we become humble and loving individuals, caring friends who value and accept others, and do not judge?

Let us maintain harmony within the family, the WKI community in the columns and the congregation, by respecting each other's differences and living in love.

Giat, rukun, this not only strengthens brotherhood, but also glorifies God.

Thus, we can also say like Paulus, May God, the source of hope, fill us with

peace and grace in faith, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit we are abundantly filled with

Hope. Amen.

Questions for discussion:

1. What is meant by "Receive one another, for the glory of God" in the passage

Romans 15:1-13?

2. What is its form in daily life about a life of mutual acceptance for

The glory of Allah?
