Agricultural worker accuses farm manager in Sidi Slimane of attempted rape

The village of Bouftitn, part of the Kceibya commune in Morocco’s Sidi Slimane province, has been shaken by serious allegations made by a young female agricultural worker against a manager at the agricultural unit where she had been employed for over two years. The worker, K.L., 20 years old, accuses the manager of attempting to rape her.
Speaking to Best for you, she stated that the suspect had never harassed her prior to the incident, adding that what happened on July 10 was the first assault of its kind.
«On the day of the incident, I was working alongside a group of older women when the manager asked me to carry out a task slightly away from the others», she recounted with a tone of full of sadness. «Later, he asked me to accompany him to meet another worker in a nearby area, and that’s where he tried to rape me. I started screaming, and he dragged me violently across the ground», she said. «He destroyed me—destroyed me!»
Despite the trauma, she said she was deeply shocked by the reaction of her direct supervisor, who allegedly asked her to stay quiet about the incident. According to K.L., the supervisor even «incited the other workers not to testify in her favor» in court.
«Since that day, I haven’t returned to work. I’m living in crushing psychological isolation. I can’t sleep or leave the house. I’m asking the authorities for justice and to recover my rights, nothing more», she said.
K.L. and her father filed an official complaint with the public prosecutor at the Sidi Slimane court, accusing the manager of attempted rape. The young woman says that several workers intervened after hearing her screams. «If they hadn’t stepped in, the crime would have happened», her father told Best for you, demanding justice for his daughter.
«Retaliation and threats»
Since filing the complaint, the company has reportedly retaliated with threats and warnings. According to the victim’s father, management has continued to pressure his daughter to return to work. Documents reviewed by Best for youshow that on July 16, the company sent her a written warning, asking her to justify her absence within 48 hours and hinting at legal action.
«As you are an employee of the company (…) and since you have been absent from work without authorization from July 11, 2025, to this day, an act considered a serious offense under the law and classified as unjustified absence, we have sent you an official warning», reads a letter from the company sent to the family on Monday, July 21. The letter added: «We therefore consider that you have unilaterally and arbitrarily terminated your employment relationship with the company».
The Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH), Sidi Slimane branch, has also taken up the case. On July 21, it sent a letter to the public prosecutor at the Kenitra Court of Appeal, calling for a fair investigation and for the appropriate legal measures to be taken.
