The controversy arose after a formal letter from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) circulated, requesting assistance with Agustina Hastarini's travel to the Indonesian Embassies and Consulates General in several European countries.
In her clarification, Agustina admitted that she traveled to Europe. However, she claimed that all the travel expenses were personally funded without using the state budget.
"Sorry if I could only provide clarification regarding the news circulating today for three days on social media. It is true that I traveled to Europe, but this trip was to accompany my 12-year-old daughter to participate in the Euro Folk Culture Mission Festival 2025 with her school team to represent Indonesia," said Agustina in a clarification on social media Instagram, Sunday (6/7).
Agustina explained that all the needs during the trip, such as accommodation, transportation, and consumption, had been prepared well in advance and paid from her own funds. She also mentioned that she has submitted all payment proofs to her husband for public accountability purposes.
"In this journey, I have already prepared since May for my needs such as hotel, my vehicle during my stay here also food... and all of it I paid with my own money from my personal account," said Agustina.
She stated that when her husband, Maman Abdurrahman, visited the KPK on Friday (7/4), he had submitted various payment evidence to clarify the issue.
"All payment evidence I have provided has been given to my husband and also submitted to KPK in the form of our public accountability, and yesterday, my husband also clarified by bringing the payment invoices since May," she said.
Regarding the circulation of a support request letter from the Indonesian Embassy that mentioned her name, Agustina firmly stated that she was unaware of and had never requested the creation of this letter. She also pointed out the inconsistency of the date on the letter, which was issued after her departure.
"Regarding the letter circulating that mentions my name to request accompaniment, I really don't know about it. Because indeed, I never asked for such a letter to be made. Because if we look back, the letter was only created on June 30, 2025, while I had already left with my daughter's school group on June 29, 2025," claimed Agustina.
Ia added during the stay in Europe, there was no accompaniment from any party other than the school group and accompanying teachers, as well as other parents.
"Since I arrived and during my stay here, there has been no accompaniment from other parties except my daughter's school group, as well as the accompanying teachers and some parents who joined to accompany their children," he said.
Furthermore, Agustina emphasized that her participation in the journey was solely due to her role as a mother who wanted to accompany her child in representing Indonesia in an international cultural event. She also strongly rejected the accusation of using public funds.
"Such is the explanation I can provide. Because in this journey, I am just a mother who has responsibility for her 12-year-old daughter, who is making her first long trip to represent Indonesia with honor at the cultural festival. And I absolutely did NOT use state funds and did NOT request any facilities from any party," she concluded.
