Preparation Mission Starts: Transport of the Cage to Ujung Kulon
On June 2-3, 2025, an important preparatory stage will begin.
A combined team consisting of various institutions, including Taman Safari Bogor, carried out the relocation of the rhinoceros transport cage towards the location that will become the translocation site in Ujung Kulon National Park.
The process is not easy, the cage must be partially dismantled, transported using trucks and cranes, even using a boat to reach the remote location.
"Every detail is very important in this preparation. The transport cage is not just a means of transportation, but a 'temporary home' that will determine the rhino's safety during the translocation process," explained one of the field team members.
Upon arriving at the location, the cage was reassembled carefully as part of the preparation.

Every technical and medical aspect is evaluated to support the translocation process, both at the translocation site and in the existing holding enclosures within the Javan Rhino Study and Conservation Area (JRSCA).

Taman Safari Bogor sent two experienced veterinarians, Dr. Dita, Dr. Bongot, and Dr. Dito, to participate in this historic mission.
Their presence brings expertise and years of experience in handling large mammals, especially rhinoceroses.
Dr. Dita expressed her feelings, "This is a very historic and touching preparation moment for us. As a veterinarian who has handled rhinos for years, I feel a mix of pride, emotion, and great hope.
