Central Java Maintains Overall Champion Title at MilkLife Archery Challenge National Junior Archery Championship 2025

Best for you - Central Java (Jateng) team performed impressively and successfully secured the overall championship title at the MilkLife Archery Challenge National Junior Championship 2025, organized by the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) and Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation.
At the event held at Supersoccer Arena Kudus, Jateng, from June 28 to July 5, 80 young archery athletes from the Jateng contingent managed to obtain 32 gold medals, 22 silver medals, and 25 bronze medals.
This victory adds to the collection of gold medals that have been obtained, for three consecutive times after winning a similar tournament in Yogyakarta in 2022, Bogor in 2023, and Batam in 2024.
Abdul Razak, Chairman of the Event Committee and also the Second Vice President for the Development and Achievement Sector of the National Archery Association of Indonesia (PB Perpani), stated that the potential of young archery athletes in Central Java is very good due to the large number of tournaments held.
However, Razak also said that the potential of athletes from outside Java is promising, but there are still not many archery tournaments to hone their skills.
According to him, archery has become one of the priority sports of the Indonesian government, so PB Perpani will make the most of the opportunity and trust to improve human resources (HR) and tournament quality at the center and in the regions. "Because if not nurtured, the achievements of young athletes will be hindered. We hope the collaboration with Djarum Foundation can continue sustainably to promote the sport of archery in Indonesia," said Razak.
Meanwhile, Yoppy Rosimin, Program Director of Djarum Foundation's Bakti Olahraga, stated that the tournament attended by 876 young archers is expected to serve as a catalyst for holding other archery events among the general public.
Yoppy also emphasized the importance of maintaining the archery ecosystem by starting from an early age. In this way, the regeneration of archery athletes in Indonesia will continue sustainably.
Karenanya, the party supports the steps of PB Perpani in holding a national-level tournament that provides a stage for young archery athletes to record their achievements and bring honor to Indonesia's name at the international level.
"Hope that young athletes can continue to love this sport and can tell about the exciting experience of participating in the national championship," said Yoppy.
The head of the Central Java contingent, Martin Sudarmono, said that this victory was not an easy thing, but rather due to the perseverance of all parties involved, starting from the athletes, coaches, to the parents. In addition, according to Martin, it is equally important to instill in the athletes, besides game strategies, creating team cohesion and trust so that the athletes can perform at their best and achieve outstanding results.
For him, this fourth overall championship title is a pride because it comes from a strict provincial-level selection. "They came with quality and capable athletes who are resilient and able to compete. However, we hope the athletes do not become complacent but instead use this trophy as motivation to become better," said Martin.
One of the athletes from the Central Java contingent who won a gold medal in the Recurve U-18 Women category is Fayola Jingga Naeva Maheswari. Yola, her nickname, faced a tense final match against Anastasya Adinda Puspa I from Lampung. Although she was behind in the first two sets, Yola eventually found calmness and accuracy, enabling her to tie the score at 4-4.
In the shoot off that decided the victory, both Yola and Anastasya once again performed excellently. Both of them were able to shoot their arrows to the target, reaching the highest score of 10.
Nevertheless, Yola's arrows were considered more accurate because her position was closer to the target's center (x). "Facing an opponent in the final was initially trembling, my mental state was shaken, but fortunately there was a coach who motivated me to stay calm and play relaxed. The biggest challenge was the strong wind, so I had to be smart in finding the right position to shoot the arrow accurately," said Yola.
