Search at sea is conducted in the Bali Strait waters, from north to south, with a radius of 20 nautical miles.
At the same time, three Air Search and Rescue Units (SRU) were also sweeping from north to south.
While the land-based SRU monitors and patrols along the Banyuwangi coastline.
Deputy for Operations and Preparedness of Basarnas, R. Eko Suyatno, stated,
We will continue to be here to follow up on the results of the underwater identification carried out by the Navigation Office and the KRI Fanildo team. Parallel to this, we have already prepared divers and prepared future preventive measures, some of which are possible actions.
Underwater Search Involves Sonar and ROV Technology
At 7:00 PM WIB (last night), the team of experts from Pushidrosal arrived and immediately carried out their duties.
At 20:00 WIB (last night), KRI Fanildo arrived and began scanning around the Last Known Position (LKP) of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya using side scan sonar and magnetometer equipment.
Sounding was carried out at a depth between 40 to 50 meters.
Then, KRI Fanildo team deployed the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) for visual verification.
This data will be compared with the under water surveillance data collected by the Navigation Office to determine the exact position of the ship.
The Basarnas party also reported the discovery of some belongings of the victims that will be used by the police forensic team.
As of Saturday afternoon, the number of victims found remained at 36 people: 30 survived and 6 died, while 29 people were still missing.
Various Equipment Deployed, Including Sonar Ships and Helicopters
Head of Bali BNBP Office, I Nyoman Sidakarya, explained that various equipment were deployed to assist in the search.
Including RIB 01 Jembrana, RIB 04 Buleleng, KN 49 KPLP Gilimanuk, KP Tanjung Rening Polairud Jembrana, and the ship Manik Emas belonging to Benoa Navigation District equipped with Multi Beam Echosounder 240.
"this ship has detected the coordinates where the shipwreck occurred. From the ten sonar sweeping routes, only four have been completed by this afternoon," he said.
In addition to at sea, air search operations continue, and the search area is expanded: 269.38 square nautical miles in the air and 141.40 square nautical miles at sea.
The weather conditions are relatively good with winds ranging at 7 knots, ocean currents from south to north, although no new results have been obtained until the evening.
"Until Saturday afternoon, the search had not yielded results. Similarly, the main base in Ketapang had also not yielded results," added Sidakarya.
Ongoing SAR Operations Continue According to Procedure
According to Law No. 29 of 2014, the search for victims will be carried out for seven days.
"According to Law No. 29 of 2014, the search is for seven days. However, we continue to make maximum efforts, hopefully it can be found before seven days, so that the operation can be closed immediately," he emphasized.
Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi emphasized that since day one, the entire Ministry of Transportation apparatus has been working quickly and collaboratively with Basarnas, TNI, Polri, KNKT, and relevant agencies.
"Since the first day, I have asked the entire Ministry of Transportation apparatus to work quickly, respond promptly, and collaborate with Basarnas, TNI, Polri, KNKT, as well as all relevant agencies. We have mobilized all our resources from sea, air, and land to accelerate the search and rescue operations," said Minister of Transportation Dudy.
Today (yesterday)-red, the search was strengthened by the arrival of KRI Fanildo 732 from Surabaya's Koarmada II, which has advanced sonar technology up to a depth of 400 meters, as well as divers, helicopters, Kopaska team, and experts from Pushidrosal.
"Today, the Ministry of Transportation team also directly inspected the search location using the KPLP KN Grantin Patrol Ship. We want to ensure all personnel are in optimal condition before being deployed to the field," he added.
The Minister also emphasized full attention to the survivors:
I have instructed that the survivors receive the best treatment, both medically and psychologically. We will not stop until all victims are found. This is a humanitarian responsibility that must not be abandoned halfway.
Weather Conditions and Search Focus
According to BMKG, the weather at the search location is cloudy with potential light rain, sea waves ranging from 0.5–2 meters, and wind speeds of 4–20 knots.
The focus of the search remains directed towards the southern sector of the sunken ship's location.
As of this morning, Sunday, July 6, 2025, the casualty data remains the same: 30 rescued, 6 deceased, and 29 people still missing.
Searches continue with the hope that all victims will be found soon.
