The change in foreign player regulations was announced at the General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS) in Jakarta on Monday (7/7/2025).
The CEO of PT LIB, Ferry Paulus, explained that the new foreign player regulation is an agreement among all teams.
With the new regulation of 11 foreign players, it is hoped that teams from Indonesia can compete in the Asian arena.

Ferry Paulus also mentioned that later, the team will only be allowed to include eight foreign players in the lineup for each match.

"If the club only registers eight, that's okay," said Ferry Paulus.
Rebranding Competition Name
The 2025-2026 Indonesian League competition will change its name from Liga 1 to BRI Super League according to the sponsor.
Rebranding is also applied to the Liga 2 competition, which will change its name to Championship or Pegadaian Championship.
Quoted from the official website of Liga Indonesia, the rebranding is not only for the league competition but also for the league operations. PT LIB will change its name to I-League.
Rebranding was announced at a general meeting of shareholders (RUPS) attended by 18 clubs from the League in Jakarta.
President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru, Ferry Paulus, explained the reasons for changing the competition's name.
From this season, we have already rebranded LIB (Liga Indonesia Baru).
Its entity remains LIB, but the brand has changed to I-League (no longer LIB).
"BRI Super League for Liga 1 and Pegadaian Championship for Liga 2," said Ferry.
Ferry also announced that the Super League competition will start on Friday, August 8, 2025.
The Persebaya Surabaya vs PSIM Yogyakarta match will open the BRI Super League season 2025-2026 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.

"Persebaya will face PSIM, why? Because we don't have the obligation or tradition to invite the champions of Liga 1 and Liga 2. We can choose anyone," he said.
