Veteran journalist Jeff Koinange has opened up about his first marriage and how he ended his relationship with his then-wife.

The celebrated Citizen TV news anchor has always maintained a private life where his family is concerned.

However, he revealed that he had a wife while living in the US and noted that thanks to digital connection, they are still in touch.

How was Jeff Koinange's first marriage?

"I was married for seven years, actually, seven good years, and it was great. Living in New York, she was a flight attendant, and you know, she was away a lot of the time. I was in school, and then I started working at the networks. But you know, you fall out of love. Things happen, and we move on. It was a tough breakup, but it's life," he said.

Jeff noted that the split was excruciating for him, but added that they were on good terms with each other even though they had not seen each other in years.

"She moved out, she lives in Florida right now, but because of this digital age, we are always in touch," he added.

The published author also admitted that he was still married to his wife, with whom he has one son.

How did police react to seeing Jeff's car?

Elsewhere, the media personality once stepped out with his luxurious G-Wagon that had a customised number plate with his initials.

When he reached the roundabout, a traffic police officer, excited to see him, smiled as he gave him a sharp salute.

Jeff then waved at him as he also smiled before driving off in his left-hand whip, as other rides followed steadily.

Netizens were amused by how the officer treated him while also noting the unique features his ride had.

When does Jeff feel broke?

In a separate report, Jeff once admitted that he feels broke when he only has KSh 20,000 in his M-Pesa.

He was on his radio show talking about the things he needed to pay and revealed that he starts to panic when he gets to KSh 20,000.
