Kakek Kadi (76), warga Desa Sindang, Kecamatan Sindang, akhirnya angkat bicara. Ia mengungkapkan penyesalan mendalam atas konflik yang kini menyeret keluarganya ke meja hijau.
Ditemui di kediamannya yang sederhana di bantaran Sungai Cimanuk, Senin 7 Juli 2025, Kakek Kadi menyampaikan bahwa rumah yang ditempatinya juga digunakan untuk menjual ikan bakar dan warung kopi demi mencukupi kebutuhan sehari-hari.
"Demi cucu-cucuku, saya rela tinggal di tepi sungai. Jika kami digusur, kami tidak tahu harus tinggal di mana," said Kakek Kadi in a soft voice.
Kakek Kadi menjelaskan bahwa sengketa berawal usai meninggalnya Suparto—anak tiri sekaligus ayah dari cucunya, ZK (12) dan Heryatno (20). Tanah yang menjadi objek sengketa, menurutnya, merupakan milik sah atas nama dirinya dan istri, Narti (73), sesuai sertifikat resmi. Lokasinya berada di Blok Wanasari, Desa Karangsong, tepat di sebelah Tempat Pelelangan Ikan (TPI).
The land of 162 square meters, according to Kadi, was bought in 2008 for Rp 50 million, the result of selling his empang. He denied the claim that the late Suparto contributed Rp 12 million for the purchase.
“Saat itu Suparto baru berumah tangga, belum punya pekerjaan tetap. Tidak mungkin ada uang untuk beli tanah,” ucapnya.
Grandfather Kadi admitted to being disappointed by his grandson's attitude, who is now seen as defiant and no longer respecting him. He feels sad, remembering that he raised Suparto since childhood, even taking care of his grandson since infancy.
"My granddaughter Heryatno, whom I have raised since childhood, is now suing me back and does not appreciate the family. I am sad and disappointed," she said with a trembling voice and teary eyes.
Kakek Kadi said that the lawsuit to the Indramayu District Court was unavoidable after mediation and family efforts reached an impasse. He also responded to his grandson's statement, asking him to wait for the court's decision before carrying out land filling as a challenge.
“Sebenarnya berat hati menggugat cucu sendiri, tapi ini demi hak saya. Mereka sendiri yang meminta diselesaikan di pengadilan,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, versi berbeda datang dari keluarga cucu. Heryatno (20), kakak dari ZK, mengaku tanah dan rumah yang kini mereka tempati merupakan peninggalan orang tuanya, almarhum Suparto dan ibu mereka, Rastiah (37). Rumah itu dibangun sekitar tahun 2009 dengan biaya lebih dari Rp 300 juta.
"Since I was five years old, we have been living here. This house was built by my father and mother with the permission of my grandfather. There were no problems as long as my father was alive," Heryatno told reporters on Saturday (6/7).
The family of the grandson said they were surprised three days after his father's death in July 2024, when his grandfather and grandmother came to ask that the house be vacated.
Community figure Warhadi Papi from Karangsong expressed regret over the legal action. He stated that filing a lawsuit against a minor like ZK should be avoided and family solutions should be prioritized.
"I am worried. This is an orphan, who lost his father, and now is being sued by his own grandfather. However, it could have been mediated, for example, by compensating the building," said Warhadi.
They added that the family of the grandson is also open to providing a land purchase money compensation of Rp 25 million, if that becomes the best solution.
This case is now proceeding at Indramayu District Court with case number 34/Pdt.G/2025/PN Idm. The Public Relations of Indramayu District Court, Adrian Anju Purba, confirmed that this civil case involves a minor as the defendant.
"This case was first heard on July 2, 2025, and will continue on July 16 next month. The type of lawsuit is a tort," said Adrian, quoted from iNews.id.
Adrian also emphasized that the court has opened up space for child accompaniment, including if the defendant wishes to be accompanied by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).
Heryatno stated that his side still hopes this issue can be resolved peacefully. He does not want this family conflict to drag on.
"I really want everything to be resolved peacefully. We are ready to make peace for mutual tranquility," he said. ***
