Best for you - A shipwreck incident happened again. On Monday, July 7, 2025, around 19:00 WIT, the KM Cahaya Timur 02 capsized in the waters of Doi Island, North Halmahera, North Maluku.
Head of Basarnas Ternate Iwan Ramdani explained that the ship initially departed from Bitung towards the Fishing Spot in the waters around Doi Island to fish for tuna.
On Monday, July 7, 2025, around 19:00 WIT, bad weather occurred and the ship tilted to the left, then the crew moved to the right side trying to balance the ship but failed.
Continue Iwan, from that incident, 14 crew members (ABK) survived, while 2 others are still missing.

2. Modern Putra Samudera LCT Ship
The modern LCT Putra Samudera ship is reported to have sunk at Liboba Cape, Southern Halmahera, when departing from Weda Port, Central Halmahera, heading to Sorong, West Papua, on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
The tugboat carrying heavy equipment, KM Modern Putra Samudera, sank while sailing towards Sorong.
3. LCT Bora V Ship
The LCT Bora V ship reported to have sunk in the Tagulandang Waters, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi on January 21, 2024 at 21:30 WITA.
LCT Bora V ship has an emergency ram door off.
The ship sank due to the impact of extreme weather waves.
4. Motor Boat Alis Mulia 03
Motorboat Alis Mulia 03 sank in the waters of Tagalaya Island, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, Saturday, December 14, 2024.
KM Alis Mulia 03 departed from Dorsago Port, East Halmahera Regency, on Saturday (12/14/2024) at 14:00 WIT.
A 120 GT vessel is heading towards Tobelo Port, North Halmahera Regency.
However, unfortunately, the ship ran aground in the waters of Tagalaya Island, North Halmahera.
KM Alis Mulia is reported to have completely sunk about 50 meters from the shore of Tagalaya Island on Sunday (12/15/2024).
5. Speedboat Basarnas Ternate
A speedboat belonging to Basarnas Ternate exploded in the waters of Gita, Oba District, Tidore Kepulauan City on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Until now, the cause of the speedboat explosion remains unknown.
6. Speedboat Milik Benny Laos
A speedboat owned by Maluku Utara Governor Candidate (Cagub) Benny Laos caught fire.
A fire occurred around 13:40 WIT on Saturday (10/12/2024). Specifically at Bobong Port, Taliabu Island.
In a speedboat containing several passengers, including Benny Laos (Candidate for Governor of North Maluku), Shely Laos, the wife of Benny Laos, who is currently serving as the Governor of North Maluku.
Hendrata Thes (Regent of the Sula Islands), Ester Tantry (Member of the DPRD of North Maluku), and Mubin A Wahib (Chairperson of PPP of North Maluku).
The speedboat is reported to depart from Bobong Village to Kawalo Village, Taliabu Barat District.
