She warned that if these figures step down from the national football scene, the potential loss of financial support and global network will also disappear.
As a result, the naturalization program, which has been the cornerstone, might suddenly be halted.
"Naturalized players will not come again because there is no one who pays them. While local players still do not have a qualified successor. What is their future in football?" he said skeptically.
Furthermore, Duong pointed out that naturalization in Indonesia and Malaysia is not built on a systemic foundation.
They emphasized that this project could only run smoothly because it was supported by the financial power and connections of the two individuals.
"Erick Thohir, chairman of PSSI, is a billionaire and former owner of Inter Milan. While Tunku Ismail is a prince who once negotiated the purchase of a major European club, Valencia," he said.
With that network and wealth, Duong said, they could form their own talent scouting team.
