The stone that pierced the glass is suspected to have been thrown by an unknown person when the train was passing.
The stone-throwing incident occurred on Sunday (6/7/2025) evening and was recorded by his mobile phone camera.
The incident that caused the victim to go into shock occurred when the train passed between Klaten Station, Central Java, and Srowot Station at 22:45 WIB.

The window of the carriage was thrown by a stone from outside, the victim said, quoted from the Instagram account @widya_anggraini_awaw, Tuesday (7/7/2025).
As a result of the stone-throwing, the victim suffered various wounds on the face up to the neck.
I even didn't realize until the people around got panicked and said, 'Mbak, your face and neck are bleeding!'
"The glass broke into my hair, face, even into my clothes," the victim wrote in the video's caption.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia expressed apologies and regret for the incident experienced by the victim.
They also strongly condemned the stone-throwing action.

Glass fragments from the stones hit two passengers, who immediately received medical treatment and insurance from KAI.
KAI emphasized that vandalism, including throwing stones, graffiti, and damaging railway facilities, is a legal violation that endangers operations and passenger comfort. As a response, KAI Daerah Operasi 6 Yogyakarta has increased patrols in high-risk areas, installed surveillance cameras, and coordinated with local police and communities. Perpetrators of vandalism will be strictly punished according to the applicable laws," wrote the Instagram account @kai121_, on Monday (7/7/2025).
The perpetrator of the vandalism can be sentenced to prison for up to 15 years, and may even receive a life sentence.
The punishment is regulated in the Criminal Code, Article 194 paragraphs 1 and 2, with a prison sentence of up to 15 years, even for life if it causes death. The ban is also stipulated in Law on Railways No. 23 of 2007, Article 180, which prohibits the destruction of railway infrastructure.
KAI urges the community not to commit vandalism, for the safety of all, and invites all parties to collaborate in maintaining public transportation security.
