- First type of surah

He knows that there will be among you sick people, and others traveling in the land seeking Allah's grace, and others fighting in the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy for you from it.

And Allah has determined the length of the night and the day. Allah knows that you will never be able to keep track of the times, so He has granted you ease. Therefore, recite what is easy for you from the Quran. He knows that there will be among you people who are sick, and people who travel on earth seeking some of Allah's grace; and others who fight in the cause of Allah. Based on the verse, the first type of surah that can be read in tahajjud is a light surah that has been memorized.
For the Prophet Muhammad SAW, continued by Ustadz Adi, his lightness was 100 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, or 10 to 11 verses from the end of Surah Ali Imran recited in one rakaat.
"So the lightness of it is relative. Light for the Prophet may not be light for us. But the principle is to find what is easy," explained Ustaz Adi.
- Second type of surah
The second type of surah is the surahs that are arranged in the Quran in order, with the purpose of repeating what is memorized or increasing what is recited.
"Earlier, it was light, but now it's the opposite. It's long, but this length is arranged," he continued.
For those who have memorized the Quran, continued Ustadz Adi, this is an opportunity to review their memorization as done by the companions of the Prophet Muhammad.
- Third type of surah
Next, the third type of surah is choosing surahs that suit the needs or requirements of the person performing tahajjud.
Ustaz Adi Hidayat said that this type of surah is the least performed by those who carry out tahajjud prayer.
"This is the last type, and it is rarely done. However, the Prophet, who is often mentioned in the traditions, frequently exemplified this," said Ustaz Adi Hidayat.
For example, choosing surahs that suit the needs, for instance, for those who are seeking livelihood, it is better to read verses about provision to ask for ease from Allah SWT.
For other matters required by the person performing tahajjud prayer, one can choose appropriate verses to recite in tonight's night worship.

How to Perform Tahajud Prayer
1. Intention
In the YouTube video titled "Is the Intention in Prayer Required to Be Spoken Out Loud?" by Taman Surga TV, Ustaz Adi Hidayat explains about the verbalization of the intention for prayer.
She explained that intention is a mandatory act that must be carried out so that an action can be categorized as worship.
"The words of Imam Asy-Syafii, the intention (for prayer) is present in the heart at the same time as the takbir. You raise your hands like this, your tongue says 'Allahuakbar' in your heart, and you show 'I intend to perform the Dhuhr prayer,' " he explained.

There is no guidance or example from the Prophet regarding the utterance of intention in prayer.

It means: I intend to perform two units of voluntary Tahajjud prayer for the sake of Allah. Allahu Akbar.

You are the one who precedes and You are the one who delays. There is no god but You. And there is no power or strength except with Allah.
Meaning:
O Allah, our Lord, all praise is for You. You are the One who upholds the heavens, the earth, and all creatures within them. All praise is for You. You are the sovereign of the heavens, the earth, and all creatures within them. All praise is for You. You are the light of the heavens, the earth, and all creatures within them. All praise is for You. You are the Most Truthful. Your promise is true. Meeting You is certainly true. Your Word is true. Paradise is real. Hell is also real. The prophets are true. Likewise, Prophet Muhammad SAW is true. The Day of Judgment is certainly true.
O Lord, I surrender myself to You. I believe in You alone. I submit myself to You. I return to You alone. Because of You, I am willing to quarrel. My decision is based solely on You. Therefore, forgive my past and future sins, the sins I have hidden and those I have revealed, and other sins that You know better than I do. You are the First and the Last. There is no god but You. There is no power or strength except by the help of Allah.
