This time elite PSM Makassar gives the latest explanation regarding the foreign player quota ahead of kick off Liga 1 2025/2026.
As known, in the next season of Liga 1, each club is planned to register 11 foreign players.
Out of 11 foreign players that can be registered, only eight players can enter the starting lineup (DSP).
Meanwhile, the other three foreign players cannot be played by the Liga 1 club.
Regarding the regulation on foreign players, it was also commented by PSM Makassar's manager, Muhammad Nur Fajrin.
Currently, it is known that PSM is still inhabited by six foreign players.
Four foreign players of PSM last season, namely Yuran Fernandes, Neto, Victor Luiz, and Daisuke Sakai.

According to him, relying only on 34 matches in the Super League limits the playing time of local players significantly.
The club certainly wants to maximize the eight foreign players in the DSP.
"This affects the playing time of local players, especially with the U-23 quota," he explained.
Fajrin suggested that the Indonesia Cup should be a different event, with regulations that provide more space for local players.

"Otherwise, players from Elite Pro Academy (EPA) will find it increasingly difficult to break into the senior squad," he added.
