Best for you, TAKENGON - Top national actor, Reza Rahadian, is currently in Takengon, Aceh Tengah Regency. He will stay in Negeri Atas Awan for a full month for the filming of the movie Black Coffee. This is his first visit, and Reza said he was surprised by the beauty of Takengon's natural scenery.
That was stated by Reza Rahadian after the celebration event of the film Black Coffee at Hotel Portola Grand Renggali, Takengon, on Friday (7/4/2025). He said he was very happy to be in Takengon and admired the beauty of the highland area that produces Gayo Arabica coffee.
"I'm honestly shocked, coming here, I've never known what Takengon, Gayo is like. I saw this view, I said wow, this place is really beautiful," he said.
Reza hopes that through this film, it can also promote the local tourism, especially in Takengon. Because many films that highlight or are set in a specific area also help promote the tourism of that area. "I just arrived here and I said, wow, this is Portola hotel with a lake right next to it. With such a view, there's no need to go far to Europe, we can just come to Takengon," Reza explained.
Reza Rahadian will be in Takengon for a full month for the shooting of the film 'Black Coffee'. The film directed by Jeremias Nyangoen started its first shooting on Saturday (5/7/2025), choosing Aceh Tengah as the main location.
In this film, Reza Rahadian plays the leading actor as a Gayo coffee farmer named Onot, who is depicted with physical limitations because he cannot see or is blind. Reza will act opposite actress Sha Ine Febriyanti. The film tells the story of a couple's efforts to have a child, complete with the commotion closely related to community life, especially in Gayo Land.
According to Reza Rahadian, this film directed by Jeremias Nyangoen is very interesting, especially since his works are quite good. That's why he couldn't refuse to join the film.
"I saw how Mas Jeremias won his Citra Award as best director, his film became the best film at the Indonesian Film Festival, then became the representative of Indonesian film for the Academy Awards, I could not possibly refuse this film," said Reza.
Learn Gayo Language
Reza Rahadian revealed that in the film "Black Coffee," there are some conversations using the Gayo language. Initially, he thought the Gayo language was the same as the Acehnese language.
"At first, I thought the Gayo language was the same as the Acehnese language, but here I finally understand that it is very different," he said.
To speak in Gayo language in the film, Reza had to learn the Gayo language. Although it was difficult, he was confident that he could speak Gayo as long as he kept learning. "Here, we are helped by coach Salman Yoga in Gayo language dialogues," he said.
