Jakarta, IDN Times - In front of the House of Representatives' Commission XI, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani has just begun her presentation entitled "Macro-Economic Framework and Fiscal Policy Outline for 2026" on Thursday evening (3/7/2025). She appeared at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, together with Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, OJK Chairman Mahendra Siregar, and Minister of National Development Planning/Kepala Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy.
Initially, Chairman of the House of Representatives' Commission XI, Muhammad Misbakhun, opened the working meeting with government officials to discuss the Macroeconomic Assumptions of the 2026 State Budget (APBN). He then invited the Minister of Finance to deliver the first explanation.
However, just as Sri Mulyani began her presentation and displayed the slide titled "Economic Dynamics and the Performance of the State Budget in 2025," her sentence suddenly stopped. An interruption could be heard coming from the row of tables across from her.
There was a moment when Sri Mulyani began her first sentence with her characteristic formal tone when a voice interrupted. It wasn't an argument about inflation or economic growth, but rather a request that brought a smile amid the serious atmosphere.
"Let me interrupt briefly. Ma'am Minister, the Directors General of Taxation and Customs are new, right? We haven't been introduced yet, Ma'am. Please introduce them to us, Ma'am. Thank you, Ma'am," said Melchias Markus Mekeng, a member of the House of Representatives' Commission XI.

Sri Mulyani, who often appears firm and focused, momentarily stopped her presentation. Her face remained calm, with a slight smile spreading.
"Because I have been to the DPR several times before, I forgot this was Komisi XI where I was supposed to introduce myself," he said. He acknowledged that that evening's meeting was his first with Komisi XI since the change of officials in his ministry.
That evening meeting briefly turned into an introduction session. Two officials who now hold strategic positions at the Ministry of Finance were introduced to the parliamentary public.
"First, Bimo Wijayanto, the Director General of Taxation; he is not a new person, having previously worked at the Ministry of Finance, then at the Coordinating Ministry, the Office of the President's Staff, and now returning to us. Second, Djaka Budi Utama, the Director General of Customs and Excise," he emphasized.
Both nodded and smiled amidst the suddenly relaxed atmosphere. It was not an ordinary occurrence when a macroeconomic meeting, usually filled with numbers and technical terminology, was interspersed with a humorous and human moment. Yet such is the dynamics within the nation's decision-making rooms. Amidst fiscal calculations, there remains space for warmth and personal connection—because ultimately, national policies also depend on the people behind them.

Bimo once served as Assistant Deputy for Strategic Investments in the Investment and Mining Coordination Deputy under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves), when the ministry was under the leadership of Coordinating Minister Luhut B. Pandjaitan. His career in the government's strategic circle also brought Bimo to become a Senior Expert Staff at the Office of the President's Staff (KSP) of Indonesia from 2015 to 2016.
Outside of government, Bimo's professional journey began in the audit field when he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Meanwhile, Djaka is known as a retired senior officer with a long track record in the intelligence and military fields. Before being entrusted to lead the Directorate General of Customs, Djaka served as Chief Secretary at the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), a position he held since October 2024.
This graduate of the 1990 Military Academy from the Infantry branch (Kopassus) has also held several important positions, ranging from Inspector General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to Special Staff to the Chief of Staff of the TNI in 2023. He has also served as Deputy for Domestic Political Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam), and has held multiple appointments as Level III Expert Officer to the Chief of Staff of the TNI in areas ranging from socio-culture to economics.
With a strong background in strategic and national security matters, Bimo and Djaka have become prominent figures drawing attention in their respective roles behind the scenes of state bureaucracy and policy-making.
