Best for you, Central Papua - Joint TNI-Polri team killed Enos Tipagau, a leader of the Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM) or Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

A shooting incident occurred in Baitapa Village, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Saturday (7/5/2025) morning around 07.16 WIT.

Commander of the Habema Operational Command, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto said that his party was forced to shoot Enos Tipagau dead because he resisted when being arrested.

"Unfortunately, we have to take measured strict actions, because the main suspect in various human rights crimes in Papua is resisting and even attacking TNI soldiers when they were being arrested from his hiding place in Baitapa Village, Intan Jaya Regency," said Lucky in his statement on Saturday night.

Separately, the Chief of Operation Cartenz, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani explained that before the operation, the team first conducted an investigation into the presence of Enos Tipagau and the location where he was hiding.

"In the operation conducted today at 07.14 WIT, there was a gunfire contact that resulted in Enos Tipagau's death," said Brigadier General Faizal.

Lucky explained in his actions, Enos Tipagau burned houses, traditional honai, schools, and the health center. The "burning earth" action not only caused material losses but also trauma for the community, especially Papuan children and women.

"Those who are no less despicable, this group uses teenagers and young people as human shields when they carry out attacks against TNI/Polri security posts, including in Baitapa District and Mamba Village, Sugapa District," said Lucky.

In addition, Enos Tipagau and his group often kidnap locals and workers from outside Papua who are working on infrastructure projects.

For victims who were tortured and killed as a form of propaganda and terror to instill fear in the Papua region.

"It's just a matter of time (for the suppression of OPM), with full support and sympathy from the community, especially the OAP, to us. Insha Allah, our brothers in eastern Indonesia can soon live safely, peacefully, prosperously, and happily," said Lucky.
