The government itself will still try the negotiation route regarding the determination of this tariff. Because, he said, there is still time until August 1, 2025, which can be used to conduct negotiations on the imposition of a 32 percent import tariff on goods from Indonesia.
"Earlier, I also consulted with Mr. Airlangga, the Coordinating Minister, but he is still in Brazil. So there is still time for negotiation," he said.
Asked about the insufficient negotiation process that failed to pressure the US to reduce the imposed tariff amounts, Havas affirmed that the negotiations are still ongoing. There is an opportunity for further negotiations, as seen from the letter sent by Trump. Nothing specific. All the statements are the same, only the numbers are changed.

Havas pointed out that, in general, the role of the US is only about 18 percent in global trade. The rest is outside the US. Then, improving the market in Europe or opening up greater opportunities in new markets such as Africa and Latin America.
In Southeast Asia itself, according to him, there is still potential. Therefore, there needs to be a review within the context of trade in Southeast Asia to re-examine whether there are barriers that can be removed or reduced. Thus, it can increase trade.
