Best for you A surprising incident occurred on the Sancaka train heading from Yogyakarta to Surabaya on Sunday night, July 6, 2025.
Around 22:45 WIB, the Sancaka train carriage was thrown stones by unknown people, causing the window glass to break and injure a passenger in the face and eye.
The moments of the stone-throwing that hit the female passenger named Widya Anggraini were recorded in a video and widely spread on social media after being uploaded to her Instagram and TikTok account, @widya_anggraini_awaw.
Through her Instagram account, Widya, the passenger sitting casually in seat 4C–4D, Car 2 of the Sancaka Executive train, shared the chronology of the incident.
The stone-throwing incident occurred at 22:45 WIB.
The journey from Yogyakarta to Surabaya, which was supposed to be calm, was broken by a loud sound.
The window next to him suddenly shattered. A big stone hit from the outside, breaking the glass and scattering sharp fragments in all directions.
"Suddenly... BRAK! (22:45) before Klaten. The train window was thrown a stone from outside. I got hit. My face was full of blood," said Widya.
After being cut by glass shards, Widya initially did not realize that her face and neck were injured. Then another passenger reminded her that the wound needed immediate treatment.
"I didn't even realize I was hit. Until the people around me panicked and said, 'Miss, your face and neck are bleeding,' " she said.

Those glass fragments entered the hair, the face, the eyes, even sneaked into the clothes.
"My face is bleeding, there are glass shards in my eyes. The glass broke into my hair, face, even into my clothes," he said.
In a state of shock, the incident was clearly recorded on his mobile phone camera.
The video is now widely spreading on social media, showing the moments after the throwing occurred.
After the incident, Widya was immediately taken by KAI officers to clean up the glass shards. She was also immediately taken off at Solo Station and brought to Triharsi Surakarta Hospital in Solo for further examination.
"Alhamdulillah I am still safe. But this is not a small incident. Lives are at stake," he continued.
Throwing stones at a train is not a new thing, but it only feels real when it goes viral and results in direct victims.
Widya hopes that such an incident will not happen again.
She also provided an option, if taking the train, it's better to close the window.
"Please... no more throwing stones at the train. One reckless action can endanger many people. My advice for those who are on the train, just close the curtains, for safer," he said.
