Persib coach Bojan Hodak said that although they had faced Port FC last season, the team's strength this season is very different. The team, which is strengthened by Asnawi Mangkualam, has made many changes.
"Last year we played against them in the AFC Champions League Two and they made some changes. Now they have a new coach, new players, but of course they are good players and this will make it difficult for us," Bojan said at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium.
In addition, Port FC has better preparation compared to Persib, which only started preparing for five days. However, as Bojan mentioned earlier, the President's Cup is seen by Persib as a preparation event for the ACL 2 and Liga 1.
"So there's no pressure and the players will slowly start, step by step. Their condition is also better now, including the foreign players who will start the match with Persib," he said.

Bojan himself already has an idea of which players will be in the lineup. However, regarding which players they are, he cannot announce them yet because he still needs to see the latest developments. There are still two foreign players coming, so the strength of Persib will not be complete in the match against Port FC.
"So far, everything (player conditions) is okay. There are still two players who will arrive, one is already on the plane and the other will come the day after tomorrow. When we start with the full team, we will begin to prepare physically and technically. So I think when the league starts, everyone will be ready," he said.
Persib also lost Robi Darwis and Kakang Rudianto, who joined the U-23 national team training camp. Previously, according to Bojan, the Persib management had sent a letter requesting that the two players be allowed to play in the President's Cup, but so far there has been no response from the national team side.
"So we don't know what happened there. Except that, other players when they arrived, maybe in the second match it was too early, but slowly everything will come together and be ready. The good news is that Henhen has already started training today. So we have one extra player," said Bojan.
Lower all players
In the President's Cup, Bojan will field all the players to play, so they all have the opportunity to play and experience the football atmosphere before appearing in Liga 1.
Later, the players will be divided into two teams so that they all can get playing time, because the players only have less than a week for preparation and that is certainly not a good time to play in the match directly.
"Frankly, I would rather the President's Cup be held at the end of July. But in reality, this tournament is being held now, and the players need time to get together and understand each other," he said.
Of the eight new foreign players brought by Persib, two of them are already familiar with the football atmosphere in Indonesia, namely William Marcilio, who also led Arema FC to win the President's Cup last year, and Rosembergne da Silva (Berguinho), who played for Borneo FC last season.
While the other six foreign players have never played in Indonesia, this President's Cup is also an adaptation opportunity for the new foreign players of Persib to get to know the playing style of Maung Bandung more deeply.
Bojan is also happy because these foreign players arrived at the start of pre-season, so they have more time to adapt and prepare for the Liga 1 and ACL.
"Of course it's good, it's always good, when they (new foreign players) can train as soon as possible. It's good for preparation. Especially for us who have brought many players, we need more time to make them integrate," he said. ***
