Alvan Love hints at mental struggles after KSh 1m debt, says he doesn't talk to parents
- Kenyans were concerned about a media personality following his long and worrying posts on his timeline
- He seemed to have been battling something for a long time, which he tried to cover up until he could no longer put on a brave face
- It was not easy for him, and the suggestions he made to cope with the challenges left many fearing for his well-being
Comedian Alvan Love has left Kenyans worried following the content of his recent posts on social media.

The artiste opened up about not being okay, citing several factors that have destabilized his mental state.
He admitted he was struggling, revealing he had a huge debt of over KSh 1 million hanging over his head, a burden he could no longer bear.
He reached his breaking point and took to social media to rant about his mental health and financial struggles, prompting Kenyans to empathize with him.
I have no strength left, Alvan says
"Today, leave me alone to sit with my tears. I know there will be people who will say I should have called them, but who are they? Maybe I only have imaginary friends. I am in debt of well over KSh 1 million. I have no strength left. I’m being thrown out by people I once brought good business to, but because they also have their own pressures, they don’t recognize me now — which is okay.
I am not talking to my parents because firstborns don’t go home for help, they bring help home. You all remember when mom’s house was destroyed by this government? Maybe that’s why I inject (myself) as heavily as I do. That’s where your last contributions went," part of his long, distressing message read.
Alvan also admitted to "living on the edge" for a while and said he could no longer pretend everything was okay.
He helplessly dared his creditors to come after him, stating that he had lost all hope of repaying them.
Where had Alvan been living?
"I have been through everything in this world in just one lifetime. I was only Alvan, not Superman. I don’t want handouts, I’m tired. Let them come with their tea, I think I’m ready to die. One man can’t go through everything I’ve been through and still look this good.
Expose me now. I’ve failed. Shame no longer scares me. Carry me and bury me. I will find peace. Signing out in shame, yours truly, Alvan Love," he wrote.
Alvan highlighted the several BnBs he had been staying at, claiming he owed them large sums of money.
He dared them to come for him and do whatever they wanted, as he had lost hope, both in life and in repaying them.
Who was Alvan's ex?
"To my exes, Njeri being the most painful, thank you. But you left and went to be with another man while I was a good man to you?!
It’s okay. Today is the day you all have been waiting for, my enemies. Come, carry a hand or a leg," his post ended.
Kenyans were disturbed by his message, and by several others that followed — as they expressed their willingness to help him.
They urged him not to harm himself, assuring him they were ready to help him through whatever he was facing.
