Best for you, BANDUNG — Bank Indonesia will hold QRIS Run dan Creative Works of West Java (KKJB) or Sunda Karsa Fest 2025 to emphasize Bandung City as a goal sport tourism and digital.
Collaboration is also built with the City Government of Bandung to successfully hold the QRIS Run and KKJB event.
These two events are not only designed as sports events and creative economic exhibitions, but also as part of a campaign to expand non-cash transactions and strengthen the digital economy ecosystem and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bandung City.
Dalam forum tersebut, Deputi Kepala Kantor Perwakilan BI Jabar, Muslimin Anwar, menyampaikan bahwa QRIS Run merupakan kelanjutan dari program QRIS Adventure yang telah berlangsung sejak 2022. In 2024, this activity officially changed its name to Bandung QRIS Run.
"This QRIS Run has entered its fourth year, and this year we target five thousand participants," said Muslimin.
She explained that the event will be held on August 10, 2025, in the Bandung City Hall area, with two competition categories, namely Race Run over 10 kilometers and Fun Run over 5 kilometers.
According to him, QRIS Run is not just an event sport tourism only, but an effective educational tool in expanding the use of QRIS-based digital payment methods.
Muslims refer to Bandung City as the region with the most QRIS users and transactions in Indonesia.
"Bandung has an active digital ecosystem. It is natural for us to make this city the center of our national campaign for the digitalization of the payment system," he said.
In addition to QRIS Run, Muslims also presented the implementation plan for the 7th West Java Creative Work, which will be held this year under the name Sunda Karsa Fest at Trans Studio Mall (TSM) in Bandung, from July 17 to 20, 2025.
The festival featured 244 booths from various sectors, including fashion & beauty , cuisine, public services and banking, BI and local government's MSMEs, as well as village tourism exhibitions from 27 regencies/cities in West Java.
From the transaction side, Sunda Karsa Fest is targeted to generate Rp15 billion during the four-day event, with a projection of 100,000 visitors.
In addition to product exhibitions, various themed events are also prepared, including 5 fashion shows, Java Tea & Coffee Experience, Business Matching, tabligh akbar, sarasehan, and mini QRIS Jelajah Indonesia.
The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, stated that the City Government (Pemkot) Bandung welcomes the two programs positively and will fully support their implementation.
He stated that QRIS Run is highly relevant to the development direction of Bandung City, which is currently building an image as a city that is comfortable for running and digitally aware.
"This QRIS Run aligns very well with our branding as a city that 'is pleasant for running' and is digital-oriented. But of course, we need to think about the technical details, especially regarding traffic and parking," said Farhan.
She instructed the Bandung City Transportation Office to prepare a neat parking scheme that does not disturb places of worship, especially the four churches located around the Bandung City Hall.
Farhan emphasized that all participants must complete the competition before 07:00 WIB so as not to interfere with the morning Sunday worship activities.
Parking system will also be tested as pilot project Digitization. Parking tickets, whether in physical or digital form, will be converted into prize coupons.
"we want to give incentives to participants who park at the designated location, even if they have to walk a bit further," said Farhan.
In addition, the Bandung City Government will map runners from other cities who stay in partner hotels. Those who park their vehicles at the hotels where they stay will receive an additional lottery coupon.
Farhan also requested the Cultural and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) to open a sports equipment bazaar and hold a night food festival after the competition, in order to promote local consumption and a more complete tourist experience.
Regarding Sunda Karsa Fest, Farhan instructed the Trade and Industry Office (Disdagin) and the Cooperative and UMKM Office (KUKM) to focus on facilitating Business Matching and Bandung Fashion Trend.
He also recommended that the Chairman of the City Legislative Council of Bandung, who is also known as a hijab fashion businessperson, should be actively involved in the exhibition activities.
Specifically for Bandung Fashion Week, Farhan reminded that participants from the City of Bandung should be wives of regional heads, according to the direction from the West Java Provincial Government.
Farhan also proposed that the "Ngadongeng" competition held in the festival involve the Karavansena community, a group under the Bandung City Archives and Library Office (Disarpus), as the jury.
"The winner can be invited to participate in the 'Bandung City of Stories' program at the library," he said.
The Bandung City Government will also help promote the two activities through the provision of outdoor media, such as billboard and Videotron at several strategic points.
Farhan concluded his guidance by emphasizing that the collaboration with BI Jabar must be understood as part of a long-term strategy to make Bandung a city that is adaptive to changes, actively innovative, and a pioneer of digital economy at the local level.
"we want Bandung not just to be a destination city, but a city that lives from ideas, creative economic activities, and digital culture that drive it," he concluded.
