The meeting specifically discussed the potential for developing and cultivating sports in North Kalimantan, including the construction or improvement of adequate sports facilities.
In front of Menpora Dito Ariotedjo, Governor of North Kalimantan Zainal Paliwang conveyed the desire of the people of North Kalimantan to have adequate sports facilities and infrastructure, so that athletes from North Kalimantan can achieve better performance both in national and international competitions.
If our current sports potential is swimming, wrestling, archery, shooting, rock climbing, lion dance, soccer, and futsal.
Our athletes' potential is also quite impressive and only needs guidance from quality coaches.
"For sports development, we have a budget, but it is very limited," said Governor of North Kalimantan Zainal Paliwang.
Taking into account the success of the first Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in North Kalimantan, North Kalimantan Governor Zainal Paliwang is confident that Porprov can become a strategic event in producing outstanding athletes from North Kalimantan.
"We hope that the Minister can later provide support so our young people are more motivated to achieve success," said Governor of North Kalimantan Zainal Paliwang.
Governor of North Kalimantan, Zainal Paliwang, stated that soon in the Province of North Kalimantan, the Village League of North Kalimantan will be held.
According to him, this is a serious commitment of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government and related parties to identify football talents across village areas.
There will be a village football match competition throughout East Kalimantan next month.
"However, due to the lack of facilities, we hope that Mr. Minister will support us in building sports facilities," said Governor of North Kalimantan Zainal Paliwang.
Governor of North Kalimantan, Zainal Paliwang, also reminded that North Kalimantan province is one of the youngest provinces in Indonesia, therefore assistance from the central government, especially from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will be very much needed.

"Regarding the land required, we have prepared everything needed except for the budget," added Governor of North Kalimantan Zainal Paliwang.
In the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, it was stated that they are ready to help Kaltara, but with some specific notes regarding priorities that need to be immediately implemented.
"Ministry of Youth and Sports will later provide recommendations regarding PUPR to build sports facilities in North Kalimantan," said Minister Dito Ariotedjo.
Minister Dito Ariotedjo urged each region, including East Kalimantan, to focus on the existing sports facilities that are utilized to be used to their maximum potential.
"Kita are emphasizing to the region that it is about the multi-functional indoor stadium, because we are lacking a lot in this aspect, and hopefully, each province will have one large stadium, one point with many courts for both training and competitions," explained Dito Ariotedjo.
In addition, Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo requested that it be made immediately. roadmap comprehensively covering the facilities and infrastructure related to its sports branch.
The roadmap must also meet the needs of the organization, infrastructure, facilities, and training until the improvement of human resources quality.
