IDSD measures the productivity and progress of regions using the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) framework from the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Those productivity drivers are incorporated into four main components and elaborated through 12 competitiveness pillars.

The 2024 Regional Competitiveness Index (IDSD) report from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has shown a comprehensive ranking of all Regencies/Municipalities in Indonesia.
For West Java Province, Bandung City ranked first as the most advanced city.
With a score of 4.26, Bandung City leads this list. Behind it are Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi City, and Tasikmalaya City.
This ranking shows the dynamics of development and competitiveness between regions in West Java.
