Saturday (7/5/2025), Chairman of the I Commission of the People's Representative Council (DPR) of Indonesia, Utut Adianto, stated that there are 12 candidates for Ambassador (Dubes) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) undergoing fit and proper test or suitability and qualification test on the first day held in the Meeting Room of the I Commission of the DPR.
In the first session from 10.00-13.00 WIB, names such as Abdulkadir Jaelani, Redianto Heru Nurcahyo, Umar Hadi, Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, Nurmala Kartini, and Indroyono Soesilo underwent qualification tests.
"Currently (second session from 14:00-17:00) Netherlands, Qatar, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and one song from Geneva," Utut said when met at the DPR RI Building, Saturday (7/5/2025).
They said, these 12 candidates were asked to write a one-page essay describing their understanding of geopolitics and Indonesia's role in the global arena.

Luhut's Brother and Former Maritime Affairs Minister
Former Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Maritime Affairs, Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo did not speak much after undergoing the fit and proper test or the qualification and suitability assessment for the candidate of the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States (US).
A woman from Bandung, West Java, only asked the media for prayers so that the process could run smoothly.
"Wait a moment, the process is not yet finished," said Indroyono when he was met at the Senayan Parliament Office in Jakarta, Saturday (7/5/2025).
He also distributed his curriculum vitae (CV) to the media and did not talk much about the qualification process he had undergone.

Indroyono also refused to answer the questions from the members of the I DPR Commission during his qualification test.

Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo was born in Bandung, March 27, 1955.
She is one of the alumni from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) majoring in Geological Engineering.
Besides having served as the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Indroyono also previously held the position of Secretary of the Ministry of the Coordinating Department for People's Welfare (Kesra) during the government of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
Currently, he holds positions in several institutions such as the Committee Reviewer of the Education Fund Management Agency, Chairman of the Indonesian Forest Entrepreneurs Association, Chairman of the Forum for Communication of the Indonesian Forestry Community, and Advisor of the Center for Technology & Innovation Studies.
Besides Indroyono Soesilo, there is also the sister of Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Nurmala Kartini Sjahrir.
Saturday (7/5/2025), Nurmala Kartini Sjahrir mentioned discussing several issues related to downstream processing and Indonesian migrant workers during her fit and proper test or suitability and qualification assessment as a candidate for the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan.
She said that diplomacy and bilateral relations are important aspects when discussing the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.
"What is the bilateral relationship with these countries in the fields of economy, protection of citizens, and how do we enhance health cooperation in all aspects," said Nurmala when met at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Saturday.
"But especially we also have to look at our renewable energy, we have a processing program," he said again.
The younger brother of National Economic Council Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that Japan is a very advanced country, especially in the field of technology.
Therefore, according to him, cooperation in the field of human resources (HR), such as migrant workers, has become very important.
Besides being a supplier of labor, Indonesia can also benefit from the transfer of knowledge.
"We must use this opportunity, because Japan is really paying much attention to it, and now in our cooperation, Japan is much more open, which will make it easier for us to obtain technology transfer and capabilities to improve the skills of our human resources," he said.
