Why Rashford has left Manchester United
The Portuguese tactician did away with the forward shortly after replacing Erik ten Hag in November last year. He accused the England international of not giving his all during the training sessions.
Rashford was subsequently loaned out to Aston Villa, where he briefly restarted his career under Unai Emery before an injury ended his season prematurely.
Villa decided against making the move permanent, leaving Rashford staring at an uncertain future until Barcelona swooped in.
The 27-year-old reportedly wanted to join Barcelona as early as January, but the Spanish giants didn't make a move then. He then reiterated his desire to play with Lamine Yamal, who is arguably the hottest prospect in world football right now.
Seven months later, Rashford is set to get his dream move, but he could be barred from playing in La Liga, unless Barcelona moves some needles.
The issue isn't a Rashford problem, but it stems from Barcelona's longstanding financial crisis. The Blaugrana have struggled to keep afloat since Lionel Messi's departure and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Why Rashford could be barred from playing in Spain
As things stand, Hansi Flick's side cannot register Rashford unless they offload some players. The Blaugrana have faced issues with the spending limits in the past. Dani Olmo and Pau Victor were temporarily unregistered in January.
Before moving in for Rashford, Barcelona were heavily interested in Spanish winger and Yamal's friend, Nico Williams.

What Barcelona needs to do to register Rashford
The issue herein for Barcelona is that they are currently above the salary limit allowed in La Liga. Last season, they spent more on players, salaries and transfer fees included, than the revenue they made.
So simply put, the Joan Laporta-led club need to find alternative sources of revenue, move out high-earning players like Marc Andre ter Stegen or convince the high earners to take a pay cut to make room in the budget.
Players Barcelona could sell to register Rashford
Apart from Ter Stegen, whose future looks away from the club following the arrival of Joan Garcia, Barcelona could also entertain offers for Ronald Araujo.
The Uruguayan centre back has been a shadow of his former self since suffering that knee injury.
Other players on the chopping board include Fermin Lopez, whose place continues to be marred in confusion despite his importance in the team.
How much will Rashford earn at Barcelona?
TalkSPORT reports that Rashford has agreed to a significant pay cut to make the move a possibility.
Barcelona will cover 100% of his salary but have no obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Rashford will earn around KSh 1.5 billion, plus bonuses, for the whole year he will spend at Barcelona, which is very low compared to the KSh 2.9 billion he would have gotten from his contract at Manchester United.
Why Rashford will be denied dream Barcelona scenario
In a related report, Rashford will also be forced to wait before he plays at the Camp Nou.
The England international has previously admitted that after Old Trafford, Barcelona's home stadium was his next best ground atmosphere-wise.
