On Monday, July 7, 2025, the Makassar District Court sentenced Mira Hayati to 10 months in prison and a fine of Rp 1 billion.
He was found guilty of the crime of distributing illegal cosmetics containing dangerous substances.
Mira Hayati went viral on social media for often using jewelry and was nicknamed the "Queen of Gold."
However, Mira Hayati's skincare products have been proven to contain dangerous ingredients.
Therefore, Mira Hayati was designated by Polda Sumsel as a suspect in the possession of illegal cosmetic products.
Not only Mira Hayati (MH) is the suspect, there are still two other suspects, namely Mustadir Sila (MS) the owner of Fenny Frans product, and Agus Salim (AS) the owner of Raja Glow.

According to Kompas.com, this case began with the findings of the Makassar Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), which identified 67 cosmetic products containing dangerous chemicals.
In the discovery, it shows that the cosmetics sold by the three suspects have the potential to harm consumers and endanger public health.
After several sessions, Mira Hayati now received a verdict from the court.
Surprisingly, Mira Hayati, the Queen of Gold, was only sentenced to 10 months in prison and a fine of 1 billion rupiah.
The trial reading of the verdict or sentence was held in the courtroom of Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Ali Said, the Makassar District Court, City of Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), on Monday (7/7/2025).
In the court session for reading the verdict, Mira was sentenced to 10 months in prison. The sentence was quite far from the prosecutor's demand, which had requested Mira Hayati to be sentenced to 6 years in prison.
Quoting Banjarmasinpost.co.id, Mira couldn't hold back her tears when hearing the judge's decision. In front of the media, she expressed her apologies to customers of Mira Hayati Skincare.
"Thank you all for your prayers and support, I apologize if there are any words or actions that were wrong until now," said Mira Hayati while sobbing.
"Saya selaku owner Mira Hayati menyampaikan permohonan maaf yang sebesar-besarnya khususnya kepada pelanggan saya. Mohon maaf, terima kasih banyak kepada semua," lanjutnya.
Although happy with the 10-month prison sentence, Mira Hayati's side stated they will appeal. They consider the 10-month prison sentence for their client still severe.
"According to us, it is still very heavy for the prosecution's demand of six years. The prosecutor will definitely appeal, because actually the prosecutor automatically appeals since it is far below the original demand," said Ida Hamidah, legal advisor of Mira Hayati.
Moreover, Mira's lawyer also stated that her client was not proven to use hazardous substances in her skincare products. Therefore, he believes Mira could receive a verdict of acquittal.
"Where did the mercury come from, from the factory? On the same day, the investigators did not find the hazardous material. Then BPOM always conducts random inspections without prior notice, and they have never found any mercury," he said.
Reason of the Judge
The chairman of the Makassar District Court, Arif Wisaksono, stated that there are several factors that aggravate the defendant Mira Hayati. First, Mira's actions are considered disturbing and dangerous to the community.
"Second, the defendant's lack of caution in distributing his cosmetics," he said.
In addition, Mira Hayati, the Queen of Gold, did not ensure the safety of her products before distributing them. She even once received a warning from BPOM.
Meanwhile, the mitigating factor for the defendant is her polite behavior. In addition, the defendant also has a baby who still needs the presence of a mother.
"The mitigating factors are that the defendant is polite, has never been punished, and the defendant has a baby who still needs the defendant as a mother," he said.
In the decision, Arif Wisaksono stated that the defendant Mira Hayati has been proven legally and convincingly committed the crime of distributing pharmaceutical preparations and/or health devices that do not meet the standards.
"Imposing a prison sentence of 10 months and a fine of 1 billion rupiah, with the provision that if not paid, it will be replaced by a two-month prison sentence," said Arif Wisaksono.
