Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) emphasized that the National Social Economic Single Data (DTSEN) is the foundation of justice and dignity. This data is not just numbers, but the face and hopes of millions of people in Indonesia.
This statement was made by Gus Ipul in front of 518 heads of social affairs offices (Kadinsos) across Indonesia during the National Coordination Meeting on the Implementation of DTSEN Usage for Social Assistance, Social Empowerment, and Social Welfare Programs at Grand Mercure Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/7).
"Each rupiah of assistance, each empowerment program, each social welfare policy step, must reach those who truly need it, targeted correctly, on time, and in the right amount," said Gus Ipul, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono along with senior officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
As many as 518 heads of Social Affairs Offices (Dinsos), consisting of 34 provincial Dinsos heads and 484 district/city Dinsos heads throughout Indonesia, attended this event. Gus Ipul emphasized that this activity is very important because it concerns the livelihood of many people.
At various occasions, President Prabowo Subianto also emphasized ensuring that social assistance is properly targeted. The key term to address this is DTSEN, as well as its regular updates, serving as the basis for the distribution of social assistance and other empowerment programs.
"Kita hold the National Coordination Meeting in order to unify understanding and perception towards Inpres Number 4 of 2025, namely the National Single Data," he said.
DTSEN is a single database of individuals and/or families containing the socio-economic conditions of the Indonesian population and has been matched with civil registration data. This data is a combination of three main databases, namely the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), Social Economic Registration (Regsosek), and the Acceleration of Elimination of Extreme Poverty Survey (P3KE).
Gus Ipul explained that Inpres No. 4 of 2025 is not a regulation but a historical call urging the Ministry of Social Affairs and regional social affairs offices to work seriously to eradicate poverty.
She hopes that the Social Affairs Office (Dinsos) as the front line continues to ensure that the data on poor residents is always up-to-date, valid, and used wisely. "We need to carry out regular updates, this is important," she said.
DTSEN is dynamic, therefore it is always updated every three months. There are two data update channels: the formal channel and the participation channel. The formal channel through village/neighborhood deliberations then to the Dinsos, and the participation channel through the channels provided by Kemensos.
"Because behind every data we update, there is a soul waiting for justice, and there lies our honor as a people's service," he said.
Gus Ipul explained the updated data, which will then be validated by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). "It is no longer the Ministry of Social Affairs or other ministries; the final validation is done by BPS, which will provide feedback data regarding the results of the updates," he explained.
At this occasion, Head of BPS RI Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti expressed gratitude to Gus Ipul for the support provided in compiling, determining, testing, and updating DTSEN.
"According to us, sir is very active and continues to promote data-based policies, which further boosts our enthusiasm, because it means the data we produce is being utilized," he said.
Amalia explained that Presidential Regulation No. 4 of 2025 is not only assigned to BPS, but also to 18 related ministries or institutions.
" This shows how important single data must be used as a common basis, " he explained.
As a conclusion, Gus Ipul recited the summary, "Every number in our data is not just statistics, but the heartbeat of the marginalized. Continue to work with your heart, because behind accurate data, a fairer and more dignified future of the nation grows."
