Osun: Adeleke flags off dualisation of Ila township, Osogbo-Kwara boundary roads

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Monday flagged off the dualisation of the Ila township road.
He also flagged off the Osogbo–Kwara boundary road, giving assurance that his administration would not abandon any project in the state.
Speaking during the flag-off exercise in Ila-Orangun, the governor announced the commencement of the dualisation of the first phase of the 3.5km stretch of the Ila township road and assured that the project would be delivered within 10 months.
Reeling off some of the projects his administration had completed so far, he said, “My administration has completed the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and renovation of over 175 kilometres of roads, while several dualisation and flyover projects are at various stages of completion.”
He added, “The Ilesa dualisation project is 78 percent completed; the Ile-Ife flyover project is 75 percent completed; the Oke-Fia flyover is over 95 percent done, while the LAMECO flyover is about 55 percent executed.”
“I am equally glad to inform this august gathering that the 1.5 kilometres across all the local government areas of the state are almost completed in their entirety. The Oke Gada bridge is 100 percent complete.”
“For the record, we have completed the construction of about 2km length of Oba Jinsin/Ita Obajoko Road, Ogunlade Junction–Kamila Junction Road, and Ajagunla Street. Also, 1.8km of rehabilitation/construction of Aregun Junction–Ogunlolu Road has been completed in Ila.”
While flagging off the second phase of the dualisation of the Osogbo–Ikirun–Ila Odo, Kwara State boundary road on the same day, Adeleke said, “The second phase, which we are flagging off today, is almost the same length as what was completed in 12 years. By the grace of God, we intend to deliver this project within 12 months.”
“As part of the short-term goals, within 100 days in office, we were able to complete the first phase of this dualisation, which was awarded in 2012, aside from other projects that were completed within our first 100 days in office.”
“It is believed that the completion of the dualisation of Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe and finally Ila Odo, which is the boundary town with our neighbouring Kwara State—a total length of 39km—is of paramount importance to this administration, and I am committed to its completion by the grace of God.”
“I am also here to inform this gathering that our medium-term goals set by my administration were significantly completed within record time.”
Hosted by the Orangun of Ila-Orangun, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun; the Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin; the Akesin of Ora; the Asaoni of Ora; and other royal fathers across Igbomina land, the governor said his government is determined and “we are pushing ahead with the mega projects,” adding, “I assure the public that our administration will not leave any project uncompleted.”
“My dear people of the state, while the first phase of the infrastructure projects is being successfully executed, today we are announcing the take-off of the dualisation of the first phase of 3.5km length of Ila township road, and this project will be delivered in 10 months by the grace of God.”
“As part of my government’s efforts to open up Osun State through road infrastructure, I have also approved the rehabilitation of the Ila–Ora–Oke Ila road.
“The rehabilitation work has reached Oke Ila Junction, and I want to assure the Orangun of Oke-Ila, the Akesin of Ora, the Asaoni of Ora, and my people in Ora that the work will continue shortly,” the governor declared.
The Orangun of Ila-Orangun, in his royal welcome address, appreciated the governor’s performance since assuming office, citing several completed and ongoing projects and programmes across the state.
Both the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, and Hon. Ayo Awolowo, as well as the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency, Hon. Clement Akanni—who coordinated the massive reception—expressed the appreciation of the Ila people to the governor for projects already completed and the dualisation of the Ila township road just flagged off.
The governor was accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun; Chairman of the Commissioners’ Forum, Hon. Ganiyu Olaoluwa; and several commissioners and special advisers.
