"Since their mobile phones have been seized, how can they eliminate the evidence? They have not confessed or acknowledged their actions, but we are not focused on or require a confession. The testimony of the experts is sufficient to establish them as suspects," said Syarif, quoted from Tribun Lombok , Saturday (7/5/2025).
On the other hand, Syarif explained the reason for only detaining M, as he resides outside of NTB. He said that M is feared not to comply with the police summons regarding this case.
"Meanwhile, suspect M (is detained because) from outside the area, so there is concern that he will not appear during the investigation process," he said.
Syarif said his party would handle this case professionally even though there is a suspect who is a police officer.
"So far, there are no witnesses who feel pressured; we are professional and we do this carefully because the person we are facing is not an ordinary person, former Head of the Narcotics Department and former Head of the Criminal Investigation Department," he said.
Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa and Ipda Haris Chandra have been dismissed from the police force or "Termination Without Honor" (PTDH) on Tuesday (27/5/2025).
Both were fired for being proven to have committed disgraceful acts.
According to their actions, the three suspects are charged under Article 351 and 359 of the Criminal Code regarding assault and negligence causing death, with a possible sentence of five years in prison.

Reformist Police Alliance representative, Yan Mangandar Putra, is worried that if Yogi and Haris are not detained, they might interfere with the investigation.
"Why weren't they detained either, even though, although they have already been fired, it is still very possible that they have the potential to eliminate evidence, influence witnesses, and interfere with the ongoing investigation," said Yan on Thursday (7/3/2025).
Yan said his party also wants the detention of M to be suspended and has already sent a letter to the Ditreskrimum of NTB Police.
If the detention suspension is approved, suspect M will be placed in a safe house owned by UPTD of the Women and Children's Protection Agency (PPA) NTB.
Chronology
Previously, the incident that took the life of Brigadir Nurhadi began when he went to Gili Trawangan for a vacation.
Brigadier Nurhadi was accompanied by his superior and two women during the holiday.
"From his explanation, they (the suspect and the victim) went there (Gili Trawangan) to have fun and party," said Ditreskrimum of NTB Police, Comrade Police Syarif Hidayat, as reported by TribunLombok.com.
The victim was given a sedative at the party location.
However, between 20:00-21:00 WITA, none of the witnesses saw the incident.
