Best for you - The figure of Luhut Pandjaitan's younger sister, Nurmala Kartini, has become the focus of attention after participating in the Fit and Proper Test for the position of Indonesian Ambassador to Japan.
Nurmala's footprint is also widely searched by netizens.
It is known that the I DPR RI Commission conducted a fitness and propriety test (fit and proper test) on several candidates for Indonesian Ambassador (Dubes RI) at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Saturday (7/5/2025).
This agenda has been confirmed directly by the Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR RI, Budi Djiwandono.
"According to the list, today we see that there is for (KBRI) Japan," said Budi, quoted from Kompas.com.
One of the candidates undergoing a suitability test is Nurmala Kartini, who is rumored to be assigned as the Indonesian Ambassador to Tokyo, Japan.
Besides Nurmala, the former Minister of Maritime Affairs, Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, also attended the qualification session. He is mentioned as a candidate for the position of Indonesian Ambassador to the United States (US).
"Unless I'm mistaken, in the last list announced by the Speaker of the DPR, it is indeed (the ambassador candidate)," said Budi.
Here are some other names of candidates for the Indonesian Ambassador who attended the first session of the fit and proper test:
Abdul Kadir Jaelani - Candidate for Ambassador to the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, Germany
Redianto Heru Nurcahyo - Candidate for Ambassador to the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia
Umar Hadi - Candidate for Ambassador to the Permanent Mission of RI at the UN
Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan – Candidate for Ambassador to the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore
Budi Djiwandono explained that in this feasibility test, the I DPR Commission explored the insights of the candidates regarding the global geopolitical situation, as well as their strategies to strengthen Indonesia's position in each of their assigned countries.
"their experience so far, and perhaps also the ways they will later use to conduct foreign diplomacy in those countries," he explained.
After all the feasibility and suitability testing stages are completed, the I DPR Commission will hold an internal meeting.
The result of the meeting will be submitted to the Speaker of the People's Representative Council (DPR) for the next process.
