Semarang Central District Head, Aniceto Magno Da Silva, who is commonly called Amoy, responded regarding a viral video in which a woman confessed to being a victim of sexual harassment.
He confirmed, the suspect in the case, initial A, is a staff member of the secretariat section in the village office under his coordination.
"Tadi A has been called by me. I asked for clarification. He said he didn't do it. But because there are parties who feel offended, I also invited the victim together with her brother for clarification," Amoy said when confirmed on Monday (7/7/2025).
She explained that although her staff denied the allegations, she does not tolerate any form of sexual harassment.
She also apologized to the victim's party for the suspected actions of her subordinate.
"As the leader, I am angry. But regardless, to the party who feels like a victim, I apologize," he said.
Faced with the Risk of Not Being Promoted to Village Head
The sexual harasser, named A, is threatened to fail becoming a village head.
That was stated by the Head of Semarang Tengah, Aniceto Magno Da Silva or Amoy, who emphasized that the relevant party will be sanctioned administratively.
"Promotion has already been proposed, but since this case has become a public controversy, we have decided to put it on hold for now. Whether proven or not, because it involves harassment, there is no tolerance," he emphasized.
She also stated that she would not tolerate alleged sexual harassment involving officials in her area.
"Being in charge, I am angry. However, to the parties who feel they are victims, I apologize for my staff's behavior," said Amoy.
Amoy initially said he tried to promote a family-based resolution. However, he did not object if the victim reported the case to Polrestabes Semarang to take the legal route.
"If it has already entered the police station, then it's okay. But I still recommend that it be resolved family-style," he said.
Amoy further stated that they will immediately issue an official letter to the local leaders or the Mayor of Semarang to consider delaying the promotion of the suspected sexual harasser.
"Tomorrow we will make a letter to Mrs. Agustina for consideration of the relevant promotion," he stated.
