Through the official Truth Social account, Trump announced plans to impose additional 10 percent import tariffs against countries that support what he called "anti-American policies."
"Any country aligning themselves with the anti-American policies of BRICS will be charged an additional 10 percent tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy," Trump wrote, Sunday (7/7/2025).
She mentioned that she has ordered the delivery of Tariff Warning Letters to a number of U.S. trading partners, including Indonesia, Brazil, India, and South Africa. Sri Mulyani stated that the BRICS group is considered a country that does not support the United States' reciprocal tariff policy. Therefore, President Donald Trump issued a threat of additional tariffs.
"President Donald Trump made a statement that the BRICS group is considered not supporting America, threatening to impose additional tariffs, this is to illustrate that in such an atmosphere, we will continue to face a very dynamic situation," he said.
Nevertheless, Sri Mulyani acknowledged that this tariff scenario was also considered in the assumptions of the 2026 State Budget Draft (RAPBN), as the US tariffs could reduce Indonesia's GDP growth by 0.3–0.5 percentage points.
