Witan Sulaeman and his teammates were initially behind 0-2, but later equalized the score to 2-2 in their second match in Group A, Tuesday (8/7/2025), at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang, Bandung Regency.
After suffering a heavy 3-6 defeat against Oxford United in the first match, the Indonesia All Star nearly faced humiliation from Arema FC. Until the 70th minute, they were still two goals behind. Two penalty kicks they received and successfully converted helped them avoid a loss.
Arema led 2-0 first, the first goal was scored by Haris Tuharea in the 17th minute. The second goal came in the 65th minute through Dedik Setiawan. However, a penalty from Witan Sulaeman in the 73rd minute and Septian David in the 85th minute made the match end in a draw.
With this result, Arema will play a decisive match against Oxford United in the final group A match to be held on Thursday (7/10/2025). Arema must win if they want to advance to the final, as well as try to retain last year's championship title.
