The ship, carrying 53 passengers, 12 crew members and 22 vehicles, sank while crossing the Bali Strait.
Wahyudi's sibling named Lusi revealed that the incident of the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya ship sinking happened quickly.
Based on the older sibling's story, after entering the ship, he was in a car.
Not long after setting sail, Wahyudi heard someone shouting that the ship was listing.
"There was someone shouting that the ship was tilting, so my older brother immediately got out of the car," he said.
Wahyudi immediately went to the ladder to go up onto the ship. Unfortunately, when climbing the second ladder, the ship's position became increasingly tilted until it eventually sank.
"His position was under the ship, it was also difficult to get out because the condition was dark. My older brother once collided with iron, causing injuries to his leg and head," he said.
Lusi is grateful that her older sister was safe from the incident. It is acknowledged that Wahyudi's injuries are gradually healing. However, Lusi does not deny that Wahyudi still experiences trauma.
"Alhamdulillah, it's getting better, but I'm still weak, because I was in the middle of the sea for hours. In addition, my head is still dizzy. There's definitely trauma," he added.
Not only Wahyudi survived the incident. Six other people who were also traveling with Wahyudi's travel bus also survived. Meanwhile, three other people are still unknown about their condition. (mer)
Wahyudi Visits ASDP Gilimanuk Post Before Returning to Banyuwangi
The number of survivors from the sinking incident of the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya ship is increasing.
Previously, 29 people were recorded, now the number of survivors has become 30.
One survivor named Wahyudi. He is a Jawa-Bali travel driver.
Wahyudi was actually found on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
However, he was immediately taken by his family who lived in Pengambengan Village, Negara District, Jembrana.
As a result, the name Wahyudi has not yet been recorded by the Posko staff at the ASDP Gilimanuk office.
Recently, the name Wahyudi was finally added by the officials, after his family reported on Friday, July 4, 2025.
She also finally gave a direct statement to the officers when arriving at the checkpoint on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Wahyudi came to the base camp accompanied by his family.
To the officer, Wahyudi recounted the incident of the KMP Tunu Pratama ship sinking based on his experience.
However, because his condition was still unstable, the staff at the checkpoint did not force him. Wahyudi was then allowed to go home, supported by his family. Driving in a car, they would head to Banyuwangi.
Adik Wahyudi named Lusi revealed that Wahyudi was found by fishermen at Pebuahan Beach on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Then Wahyudi was immediately taken by the residents to Banyubiru Public Health Center.
The family immediately picked up Wahyudi and took him home.
"Fortunately, I live in Pengambengan, which is nearby. So I will let you rest at home first, and then we will take you back now," he said.
Therefore, Wahyudi's data is not recorded at the ASDP Gilimanuk office post.
Because the family only provided data to Puskesmas Banyubiru.
"When they found it, I gave the sister's data to the health center. Now the sister is being asked for a statement and re-registered by the staff at the post," he explained.
The reason why Wahyudi had to go home now was because the boss of the travel company where he worked asked him to take the victim of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya, who was also on board at that time, home.
Where the number of passengers in the travel car is 9 people.
"Out of the nine people, six managed to survive. The other three are still missing. Now, his boss wants to have them picked up by my older sister to the place where the missing passengers are being picked up," he said. (mer)
