The name consists of nine words and a total of 58 characters including spaces.
In response to the viral name, the Director General of Civil Registration and Population (Dirjen Dukcapil), Teguh Setyabudi, provided an explanation.
She also confirmed that the viral name is indeed officially recorded in the population data.
"Yes, the name exists and is recorded in the population data," said Teguh on Monday (7/7/2025).
Although it is uncommon, a name as long and unique as that is still legally valid because it does not violate the applicable regulations.
According to Teguh, as long as the name does not contain elements of insult, provocation, or things that conflict with norms, it is still allowed.
Even, it can be published in official documents such as birth certificates, ID cards, and family cards.
As explained by Teguh, the number of characters in the child from Karawang is still within the allowed limit, which is a maximum of 60 characters according to the applicable regulations.
As for the naming in official documents, it is regulated by the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation (Permendagri) No. 73 of 2022 concerning the recording of names in civil registration documents.
"His main purpose is to support the smooth public service, provide legal protection for children, and ensure that the recorded name reflects the values of religion, courtesy, morality, and remains in accordance with the applicable regulations," explained Teguh.
Longest Name in Indonesia Reaches 70 Characters
Previously, the Directorate General of Civil Registration and Population (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Interior (Kemendagri) once released data on the longest name in Indonesia through its official Instagram account.
In the Dukcapil upload of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the longest name in Indonesia at that time was Venushyntha Phauna Pharamytha Tribhuana Adhyndha Phrameswary Dhahaputri.

Procedure for Recording Names in Official Documents
a. Using Latin letters according to the rules of the Indonesian language;
b. Clan name, family name or any other name may be listed in the Population Registration Document; and
c. Educational degrees, customs, and religion can be listed on the family card and electronic identity card, and their writing can be abbreviated.
Procedure for Recording Names on Identity Documents is Prohibited:
a. Abbreviated, unless otherwise interpreted;
b. Using numbers and punctuation; and
c. Listing educational and religious titles in the civil registration certificate.
